Don't Eat Gravel

Month: October, 2011

the last post [ever] in October

Happy Halloween!

I dressed as Mia Wallace today, and sadly only two people could actually say who I was. A good number knew once I told them, and then the rest just had no clue because Pulp Fiction came out in 1994 and my school is uncultured.

Today someone was wearing a wicked Deadmau5 costume that played music. There were also Teletubbies, and one of my friends was Agnes from Despicable Me! She even had the toilet brush unicorn!

NaNoWriMo starts in eight hours! Holy crap, I am worried. But, I bet it’ll feel good once it’s finished, and as long as I finished it, too.

The Last NaNoWriMo challenge question: Share a link to either your NaNo profile or a location on the internet where your story can be found.  If someone offered to beta read for you, would you be willing to do the same for them during the subsequent editing process?

Okay, obviously WriMo starts tomorrow so there is no novel, so I’m just going to leave the link to my profile. I will add anyone, maybe just message me if you found me from wordpress, or even Tumblr, or if you know me IRL.

Happy Halloween and Happy noveling. I will probably not be here for November much… so yeah. Later days!

Rocky Horror midnight show

Last night I went to a midnight showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show! It’s the biggest thing I’m doing all Halloween weekend, but you can’t be upset sitting in a theatre full of transvestites throwing toast “Up and back!”

This was my third year attending a Rocky Horror showing. The first year, when I was a Rocky Horror Virgin (or a Video Slut), I was sacrificed. I can’t tell you what the virgin sacrifice ceremonies consist of, that you have to see for yourself. The second year wasn’t as good, though I still had fun, it was just that the film’s volume was really low and there wasn’t a shadow cast. This year was my favourite, though. Alice was our Rocky Horror virgin, and we all dressed as the Transylvanians.

I also watched Halloween IV: The Return of Michael Meyers last night. I really enjoyed it, even not having fully watched any of the other Halloween films. I’m watching the original later today though, because I started watching it on Wednesday but I didn’t finish it. One year I will just watch all eight (maybe ten if I can handle Rob Zombie) on Halloween.

Tomorrow I’m wearing my Mia Wallace costume to school. It’ll be the first full-out costume I’ve worn to school since grade seven, so I’m looking forward to that.

Day 29 – Name one thing in which you indulged as a treat to keep yourself motivated and writing that you wouldn’t otherwise have done.

I don’t know if I’ll reward myself too much. I might have Starbucks more than usual though, just from the stress of writing 1 667 words everyday on top of all my homework and college application stuff. Life is great.

Happy early Halloween, all! See you ghouls, tomorrow.

(Yes, I used the classic ghouls pun. So what.)
